Nelly, as she was known, was staying with her grandparents Michel and Christie Zoller in North Tampa when the tragedy took place, the Tampa Bay Times reported.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Both grandparents were home at the time of the shooting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Shane Zoller, the girl\u2019s father, spoke fondly of the girl&#8217;s relationship with her grandparents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">&#8220;She was extremely close to them and would get so excited when she got to stay at her nana&#8217;s house,&#8221; he said. &#8220;She was attached to her nana&#8217;s hip.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Tampa police were continuing to investigate the shooting, but said they had no reason to doubt the Zollers&#8217; story, the Washington Post reported.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">The Hillsborough County medical examiner\u2019s office reported that the girl died of an accidental gunshot wound to the chest, perforating her lungs, aorta and esophagus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">The father was on his way over to his parents\u2019 house to pick Nelly up when he saw police lights out front.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">&#8220;She just wanted some damn candy,&#8221; he told the Times.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">The 22-year-old father has one other child with one more on the way.
