But this one is our tightest deadline.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">Chronicling the first total solar eclipse in the United States since 1979 \u2014 and the first to cross the U.S. since 1918 \u2014 is also a massive, carefully orchestrated team effort.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">NOVA will station film crews in Casper, Wyo., Salem, Ore., NASA\u2019s Ellington Airfield in Houston and Irwin, Idaho.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">Participating experts include American astronomer Jay Pasachoff, who teaches at Williams College. He has witnessed and studied 65 solar eclipses all over the world and calls them a \u201cprimeval thrill.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">\u201cIt\u2019s just tremendously exciting to be outside while the Universe darkens all around you,\u201d Pasachoff noted in a statement. He\u2019ll be in Salem during the eclipse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">PBS stations are planning to send their own footage of the eclipse for the special.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">Even if the weather is lousy on Monday and puts a damper on the fresh footage that\u2019s available, NOVA has it covered.
