Bride surprises father by wearing Chicago Bears-themed wedding dress for their dance<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Bride surprises father by wearing Chicago Bears-themed wedding dress for their dance:- Bride Brittney Harmon\u2019s father is a die-hard Chicago Bears fan.<\/span><\/p>\n

On her July 22 wedding day in Galena, Illinois, she surprised him with a Bears-themed dress for their father-daughter dance.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was literally speechless, and I couldn\u2019t hug her enough,\u201d her dad, Steve Benda, told ABC News of the moment he laid on eyes on her in the new gown.<\/span><\/p>\n

Harmon had a regular wedding dress on for the entire ceremony but quickly changed into the Bears gown before her father-daughter dance, unbeknownst to everyone except her mother and one of her maids of honor.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMy husband didn\u2019t even know and I was holding it in my closet for 6 months,\u201d she said of her groom, Mike Harmon.<\/span><\/p>\n

Apparently the bride\u2019s father had big plans for Harmon to sport the team-themed dress for years after finding it online in 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAt that time there was no son-in-law in the future that I knew of,\u201d Benda, 59, recalled. \u201cI showed her and said, \u2018You know what honey? This is your wedding gown and you\u2019re getting married at Soldier Field. She said, \u2018That\u2019s not happening.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

It continued to be a running joke between the two until Harmon actually came across the dress on the clearance rack in the bridal salon where she purchased her real gown.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt was my exact size. I didn\u2019t have to do any alterations to it,\u201d she said. \u201cI tried it on and came out and we started dying laughing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

When it came time for the father-daughter dance, Benda started to panic when he couldn\u2019t find Harmon anywhere because she had snuck away to change. He had specifically requested the song \u201cDaddy\u2019s Angel\u201d by T Carter Music and was going to be heartbroken if they didn\u2019t get that special moment together.<\/span><\/p>\n

When the DJ told everyone to clap their hands for the bride to reappear for their dance, Benda was confused because it\u2019s a very sentimental song. But then, he got the surprise of a lifetime.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe started with the Bears music but I didn\u2019t catch it because I was still in a fog,\u201d Benda said of the Bears anthem beginning to play. \u201cThen the door opened up and she came out in this dress and I went, \u2018No way did you do this.\u2019 It was just terrific.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The proud father of the bride says his daughter\u2019s wedding day was the best day of his life.<\/span><\/p>\n

As for Harmon?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMy dad\u2019s reaction was absolutely worth it all,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The bride and groom are now planning to keep the dress in their \u201cman cave\u201d basement along with their other Chicago Bears sports memorabilia. But if Benda gets his way, it won\u2019t be the last time the dress is worn.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFor my 60th birthday on November 12 I\u2019m taking her to the Bears\/Packers game,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m hoping to get her in the dress again.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
