They wed on on Aug. 22, 1942, in Caruthersville, Missouri, and had seven children together.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000;font-size: 14pt\">&#8220;We had quite a few people, and everything turned out all right,&#8221; Marie Nowell told ABC News of her anniversary celebration. &#8220;It was nice, and we enjoyed it. We&#8217;ve had a pretty good life.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000;font-size: 14pt\">Robert and Marie Nowell met at a street carnival in Michigan, according to their son Anthony Norwell, 59.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000;font-size: 14pt\">The couple married in 1942 and later became parents to Robert, Donnie, M. Janet, Patricia, Ricky, Anthony and Michael.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000;font-size: 14pt\">Their daughter Patricia Silman said her dad worked as a heavy equipment operator for Missouri and her mother sold Blair home products such as cake flavorings, in a bread truck.
