{"id":39492,"date":"2017-08-08T06:57:45","date_gmt":"2017-08-08T06:57:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.biphoo.com\/bipnews\/?p=39492"},"modified":"2017-08-08T06:57:45","modified_gmt":"2017-08-08T06:57:45","slug":"hackers-target-venezuelan-government-sites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biphoo.com\/bipnews\/world-news\/hackers-target-venezuelan-government-sites.html","title":{"rendered":"Hackers target Venezuelan government sites"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">Hackers target Venezuelan government sites<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">Hackers target Venezuelan government sites:- A hacking group has attacked Venezuelan government websites in an operation targeting the &#8220;dictatorship&#8221; of President Nicol\u00e1s Maduro.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">Calling itself &#8220;The Binary Guardians&#8221;, the group posted messages appearing to support the actions of a group of armed men who attacked a military base in the central city of Valencia on Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">Meanwhile, supporters of President Maduro marched in the capital Caracas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">They called for an end to months of opposition protests and unrest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">More than 100 people have died in the protests against the failing economy and what the opposition sees as the government&#8217;s illegal attempts to cling to power.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">The hacked sites included the Venezuelan government, the National Electoral Council and the Venezuelan navy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">A message on the main government site made reference to &#8220;Operation David&#8221;, which Venezuelan media had reported was the codename of the attack in Valencia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">&#8220;This dictatorship has its days numbered,&#8221; it added.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">Venezuela crisis explained<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">What lies ahead for divided Venezuela?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">The government said it had repelled the attack in Valencia, which was carried out by a group of armed civilians led by a military deserter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">A search was under way for 10 men who escaped with weapons after the attack, Mr Maduro said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">The assault in the north-western city of Valencia was carried out by 20 people, the president said. Two were killed, one was injured and seven were arrested.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">Earlier, a video posted on social media showed uniformed men saying they were rising against a &#8220;murderous tyranny&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">On state television, Mr Maduro congratulated the army for its &#8220;immediate reaction&#8221; in putting down the attack in the early hours of Sunday, saying they had earned his &#8220;admiration.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">He called the incident a &#8220;terrorist attack&#8221; carried out by &#8220;mercenaries&#8221;, and said the security forces were actively searching for those who had escaped. &#8220;We&#8217;ll get them,&#8221; he vowed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000\">The government said that those arrested included a first lieutenant who had deserted.
