Woman divorces husband who won\u2019t reply to her text messages:- A WOMAN divorced her husband all because he did not reply to her text messages.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Taiwanese woman was granted the divorce after she could prove in court her husband had seen her text messages and had chosen to ignore her.<\/span><\/p>\n

The BBC reports the woman sent her husband a text through the messaging app Line, which has a \u201cread\u201d feature that lets senders know when recipients have seen the message.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the BBC, a judge in the Hsinchu district\u2019s family affairs court said the message was evidence their marriage was irreparable and she was entitled to a divorce.<\/span><\/p>\n

In one of the text messages, the wife told her husband she was in hospital after a car crash. Ticks indicate he saw the message but did not respond.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Judge Kao\u2019s ruling she said: \u201cThe defendant did not inquire about the plaintiff, and the information sent by the plaintiff was read but not replied to.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe couple\u2019s marriage is beyond repair.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The BBC reports the woman had her text messages ignored over a six-month period, but the husband did write to her a couple of months after her accident.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt was about matters related to their dog and notified her there was mail for her, but he didn\u2019t show any concern for her,\u201d Judge Kao said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt appears there\u2019s very little interaction with the plaintiff; the defendant rarely replies to the plaintiff\u2019s messages.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The wife told the court she paid most of the family\u2019s bills as her husband, who she had been married to for five years, did not have a steady income.<\/span><\/p>\n

The BBC reports Judge Kao said it was not normal for a couple to treat each other that way.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Line messages were at very important piece of evidence. It shows the overall state of the marriage … that the two parties don\u2019t have good communication,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNow internet communication is very common, so these can be used as evidence. In the past, we needed written hard copy evidence.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
