Assistant vice principal paralyzed in Slip ‘N Slide accident :- A summer party turned tragic for an assistant vice principal and his family on Saturday, when he was critically injured in a Slip N\u2019 Slide accident. Chad Fuller, who had spent the day at St. Paul, Nebraska\u2019s annual celebration, is now on a ventilator and paralyzed from the neck down, The Omaha World-Herald reported.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fuller\u2019s family said that he was at his brother\u2019s house and went head-first down the Slip N\u2019 Slide, which was positioned to let out into the Lake of the Woods. They quickly realized he was in distress and pulled him from the water. Fuller\u2019s brother, a head football coach, and his teenage son began administering CPR before he was taken to St. Francis Regional Medical Center, The Omaha World-Herald reported.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fuller\u2019s brother, Rusty, said some sensation had returned to his chest, and a feeding tube was inserted on Wednesday. Rusty told the news outlet that he\u2019s able to communicate with family, which includes his wife and another son who were traveling at the time of the accident, by blinking and using an alphabet board.<\/span><\/p>\n

Supporters quickly took to Facebook to express their concerns and well-wishes, with donations for the family being accepted at any U.S. Bank branch. Some members in the community had even finished painting the family\u2019s home, which Fuller had half-completed before the accident.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt really is overwhelming, and we\u2019re truly blessed,\u201d Rusty told The Omaha World-Herald.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rusty told the news outlet there is no timetable for his brother\u2019s release, and that they are unsure if he will ever regain use of his limbs.<\/span><\/p>\n
