{"id":32606,"date":"2017-06-19T09:29:56","date_gmt":"2017-06-19T09:29:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.biphoo.com\/bipnews\/?p=32606"},"modified":"2017-06-19T09:29:56","modified_gmt":"2017-06-19T09:29:56","slug":"israel-trip-calms-d-c-tensions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biphoo.com\/bipnews\/world-news\/israel-trip-calms-d-c-tensions.html","title":{"rendered":"Israel trip calms some D.C. tensions"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">Israel trip calms some D.C. tensions<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">A number of former top Trump campaign officials and prominent Democrats say that their trip last week to Israel helped them dial down the bitter partisanship of current-day Washington.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">Trump campaign alumni Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie, former Obama White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton, and Paul Begala were among the participants in the seven-day trip that ended Saturday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">Bossie called the trip \u201ca welcome respite from the day-to-day action here in Washington\u201d and said it \u201cwas an incredible experience to be able to go to Israel to see along with everyone else, what the state of Israel has to do on a day-to-day basis just to exist.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">\u201cWe really got in a chance to enjoy some fellowship and some time together that we normally wouldn\u2019t have had\u201d with Democrats, Bossie said. \u201cWe learned about each other\u2019s families and backgrounds so it was a very welcome thing to do in this current political atmosphere.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">The trip was sponsored by the American Israel Education Foundation and organized by AIPAC political director Rob Bassin; other trip-goers included Juleanna Glover, Corry Bliss, Trey Nix, Brad Todd and Jeffrey Pollack.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #000000;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">\u201cIt was really eye-opening to have human interaction with people that we\u2019re usually just firing TV ads at,\u201d said J. Toscano, a partner at Democratic ad firm GMMB, that worked for Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama\u2019s campaigns. On the trip, \u201cYou\u2019re actually on a bus for a couple hours and you\u2019re talking about your career, your job, the company that you work for, the things that you\u2019ve done in your past, your kids.
