{"id":31911,"date":"2017-06-09T06:06:04","date_gmt":"2017-06-09T06:06:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.biphoo.com\/bipnews\/?p=31911"},"modified":"2017-06-09T06:06:04","modified_gmt":"2017-06-09T06:06:04","slug":"microsoft-agrees-buy-u-s-israeli-cyber-firm-hexadite","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biphoo.com\/bipnews\/technology\/microsoft-agrees-buy-u-s-israeli-cyber-firm-hexadite.html","title":{"rendered":"Microsoft agrees to buy U.S.-Israeli cyber firm Hexadite"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: justify\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:22px\"><strong><span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">Microsoft agrees to buy U.S.-Israeli cyber firm Hexadite<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:18px\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">Microsoft (MSFT.O) said on Thursday it has agreed to acquire Hexadite, a U.S.-Israeli provider of technology to automate responses to cyber attacks.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:18px\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">Financial terms were not disclosed.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:18px\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">In May, Israeli financial news website Calcalist said Microsoft would pay $100 million for Hexadite, which is headquartered in Boston with its research and development center in Israel.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:18px\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">Hexadite says its technology increases productivity and reduces costs for businesses.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:18px\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">Terry Myerson, executive vice president of Windows and Devices Group at Microsoft, said Hexadite will enable the company to add new tools and services to Microsoft&rsquo;s enterprise security offerings.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:18px\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">Investors in Hexadite include Hewlett Packard Ventures, and venture capital firms TenEleven and YL Ventures.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-size:18px\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">Microsoft said in January it plans to continue to invest more than $1 billion annually on cyber security research and development in the coming years.
