\n\tAuthorities have identified the gunman and two nursing home employees who died during a shooting at an Ohio nursing home.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tOfficials say 43-year-old Thomas Hartless killed Kirkersville Police Chief Steven Eric Disario and two female employees at Pine Kirk Care Center Friday. Hartless was found dead with the employees, Marlina Medrano, a nurse, and 48-year-old Cindy Krantz, a nurse’s aide.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tOhio Attorney General Mike DeWine says Medrano, whose age wasn’t available, had a relationship with Hartless. She lived on the same street as he did in the nearby village of Utica.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLicking County Sheriff Randy Thorp says Disario was killed while responding to reports of a man with a gun.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tKirkersville is about 25 miles (39 kilometers) east of Columbus. Utica is about 26 miles (41 kilometers) north of Kirkersville.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAuthorities say they’ve searched two cars belonging to the man suspected of fatally shooting an Ohio police chief and two nursing home employees.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tOhio Attorney General Mike DeWine said Friday that two search warrants were issued for the cars.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tOne of the vehicles searched was at a nearby gas station in Kirkersville in central Ohio.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tMedia reports also say police searched a house in the nearby village of Utica on Friday.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tOhio Gov. John Kasich (KAY’-sihk) has ordered flags flown at half-staff following the fatal shooting of a village police chief in an attack that also killed two nursing home employees.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAuthorities say the gunman also was found dead Friday.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tKasich ordered flags flown at half-staff at the Statehouse and at all public buildings and grounds throughout Licking County in central Ohio, where the shootings happened.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tKathy Rogers owns a thrift shop on the same block as Pine Kirk Care Center.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tRogers said Friday she could hear a man yelling and screaming but wasn’t sure what he was saying.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tRogers says she went across the street to a neighbor’s home and hunkered down with a group of about nine adults and eight children.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
