Manufacturing activity in France and Italy also rose, adding to signs of a pick-up in the global economy.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000;\"><span style=\"font-size:18px;\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">On Wall Street, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI closed down 13.01 points, or 0.06 percent, to 20,650.21. Construction spending grew 0.8 percent to $1.19 trillion, the highest since April 2006.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t<span style=\"color:#000000;\"><span style=\"font-size:18px;\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">The dollar index .DXY rose 0.13 percent, with the euro EUR= up 0.22 percent to $1.0672.
