That number is likely going to be released Thursday; Quinnipiac usually staggers details from one survey over a few days to highlight different bits of data. Since Thursday is the day the House plans to vote on the Republican Affordable Care Act-replacement bill, it would make sense to release an assessment of how President Trump is viewed on that metric at the same time.

Incidentally: He is viewed poorly.

Trump has assumed ownership of the Republican bill recently, even as Republicans on and off Capitol Hill continue to express skepticism about the legislation. Two other recent polls, from CNN-ORC and Fox News, have asked the same question about Trump’s work on health care. In the first, conducted at the beginning of the month, views were about split. In the second, conducted two weeks ago, opinions were more negative. In Quinnipiac’s poll, views are more negative still.

Mind you, in the first two polls (though not Quinnipiac’s), Trump’s approval ratings were fairly steady. Meaning that while Americans viewed Trump about the same in both CNN’s and Fox’s polls, views of how he was handling health care sank in the latter.

There’s only one way to read that: Trump’s handling of health care is a negative for the president. While we can’t do an apples-to-apples comparison of three polls from three different pollsters taken at different times, there is a correlation between how long the health-care fight has gone on and how poorly Americans think Trump is handling it.

We can’t break down the numbers any further just yet, since Quinnipiac hasn’t released cross-tabs (breakdowns by demographic).
