\n\tMika Zibanejad's Overtime Goal Allows Rangers to Escape Devils:- <\/strong>The Rangers are finding ways to win, and the Devils are not.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tMoments after Rangers goalie Antti Raanta denied Kyle Palmieri on a breakaway, Mika Zibanejad scored 1 minute 16 seconds into overtime Saturday, and the Rangers rallied to beat the Devils, 4-3, in Newark.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“I had to redeem myself after that letdown on the breakaway the other way,” said Zibanejad, whose mistake gave Palmieri a chance to complete a hat trick.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe goal was Zibanejad’s first in 16 games, and it gave the Rangers their ninth win in their past 11 (9-1-1). The Devils absorbed their fourth loss in five games (1-3-1).<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tRaanta made 35 saves. He said he stopped Palmieri’s shot with his skate.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“I was glad to make the save and then score at the other end,” said Raanta, who gave Henrik Lundqvist a rare night off.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIt was a tough loss for the Devils, who rallied from a 2-0 deficit late in the second period, scoring three times in a span of 2:46 to take a 3-2 lead.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAdam Clendening tied the game for the Rangers with 4:25 left in regulation, and then Zibanejad won it after taking a long pass from Brady Skjei, faking a shot and sliding the puck between goaltender Cory Schneider’s legs. Schneider finished with 36 saves.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“Obviously, for me, I have to make that save in overtime and give my guys another chance,” Schneider said.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tChris Kreider and Oscar Lindberg also scored for the Rangers, who are 3-0 against the Devils this season.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tPalmieri scored twice in 47 seconds in the third period, and Adam Henrique added a goal for the Devils.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“I think we were happy with our group’s effort, just not the result we needed to get,” Palmieri said.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tOutplayed for much of the first two periods, the Devils got back into the game when Henrique’s wraparound goal made it 2-1.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tPalmieri tied it just 27 seconds into the third period on a shot from the top of the left circle that went off Raanta’s glove.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe go-ahead goal came four seconds after Kreider was penalized for delay of game. Travis Zajac won a face-off, and Palmieri deflected Andy Greene’s shot from the point past Raanta.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
