Trump says Pence to lead voter registration fraud probe, leaves door open on Iran deal future:- President Trump, in an exclusive interview with Fox News\u2019 Bill O\u2019Reilly, announced he\u2019ll name Vice President Pence to lead a commission investigating voter registration fraud \u2013 while also laying out timelines for top domestic priorities like tax cuts and health care, and leaving the door open to scrapping the Iran nuclear deal.<\/span><\/p>\n

The president, in the interview aired Sunday on Fox Sports ahead of Super Bowl LI, defended his past complaints about \u201cillegals\u201d potentially voting.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYou take a look at the registration, you have illegals, you have dead people \u2026 it\u2019s really a bad situation,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Though Trump did not sign a previously expected executive order initiating a voter fraud probe, he said in the interview he\u2019s going to assign Pence to the job, seemingly making good on a vow to hold a \u201cmajor\u201d investigation.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to set up a commission, to be headed by Vice President Mike Pence, and we\u2019re going to look at it very, very carefully,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The president \u2013 who lost the popular vote by nearly 3 million but won the Electoral College and with it the White House \u2013 has insisted since the election that millions of illegal immigrants and others improperly cast ballots.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amid criticism of those claims and questions about what proof he has, however, Trump appeared to pull back Sunday on the allegations of rampant voter fraud, focusing more on voter registration problems as evidence.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the heels of his administration imposing new sanctions on Iran-tied businesses and individuals in response to recent missile tests, Trump also said Iran has \u201ctotal disregard\u201d for America and revived his criticism of the 2015 nuclear deal struck by his predecessor. The agreement with other world powers lifted billions in economic sanctions on Iran in exchange for the country curtailing its nuclear weapons program.<\/span><\/p>\n

Trump called it \u201cthe worst deal I\u2019ve ever seen negotiated.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He said he wasn\u2019t outright opposed to the deal, but claimed that it hasn\u2019t been enforced.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re sending money all over the place and weapons, and you can\u2019t do that,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Asked whether he\u2019d scrap it, Trump said, \u201cWe\u2019ll see what happens.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cThat deal, I would have lived with it if they said, OK we\u2019re all together now. But it was just the opposite, it\u2019s like they\u2019re emboldened.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

As for the new sanctions, Trump said, \u201cjust starting.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Trump would not confirm reports that the U.S. has repositioned a key warship, after accusing former President Obama of revealing too much.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI won\u2019t give away military secrets,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

As for domestic policy matters, Trump told O\u2019Reilly he intends to have a replacement ready for ObamaCare by the end of the year or in early 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n

He acknowledged that replacing the troubled health care law that now covers as many as 20 million Americans is \u201cvery complicated.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Trump also said Americans probably can expect a tax cut sometime in 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n

As for his recent calls to foreign leaders, Trump said he has “respect” for Russian President Vladimir Putin, but that respect does not mean they’ll get along.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I say it\u2019s better to get along with Russia than not,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd if Russia helps us in the fight against ISIS, which is a major fight, and Islamic terrorism all over the world — that\u2019s a good thing. \u2026 Will I get along with him? I have no idea.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Pressed about Putin’s history of violence, Trump said: “There are a lot of killers. We\u2019ve got a lot of killers. What do you think? Our country\u2019s so innocent?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
