{"id":20975,"date":"2017-02-01T09:42:54","date_gmt":"2017-02-01T09:42:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.biphoo.com\/bipnews\/?p=20975"},"modified":"2017-02-01T09:42:54","modified_gmt":"2017-02-01T09:42:54","slug":"oil-prices-stabilize-russia-joins-opec-production-cut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biphoo.com\/bipnews\/business\/oil-prices-stabilize-russia-joins-opec-production-cut.html","title":{"rendered":"Oil prices stabilize as Russia joins OPEC in production cut"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"Justify\">\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\">Oil prices stabilize as Russia joins OPEC in production cut<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong>Oil prices stabilize as Russia joins OPEC in production cut:-<\/strong> Oil steadied on Wednesday as Russia joined OPEC in cutting production to try to balance the market, although plentiful supply in places such as the United States dragged on prices.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\">Brent crude futures LCOc1, the international benchmark for oil prices, were trading at $55.63 per barrel at 0749 GMT (02:49 a.m. ET), up 5 cents from their last close.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\">U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures CLc1 rose 5 cents to $52.86 a barrel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\">Prices reversed earlier falls after reports that Russia cut its oil and gas condensate production by around 100,000 barrels per day (bpd) between December and January, down to 11.11 million bpd.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\">Russia&#8217;s cuts are part of an effort led by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), of which Russia is not a member, to prop up the market and end a global fuel supply glut.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\">As part of this, OPEC has said it will cut production by around 1.2 million barrels per day (bpd) in the first half of 2017.
