From postgame press conferences to next-day media availabilities, NFL players and coaches can’t escape the microphone.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Jacksonville Jaguars were officially eliminated from playoff contention after Sunday’s 20-10 loss to the Denver Broncos dropped them to 2-10. Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles turned the ball over three times in the game, with two interceptions and a fumble. One of those interceptions was returned for a touchdown.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bortles was the No. 3 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, but has thrown 11 pick-sixes while winning just 10 games. He leads the NFL with 15 interceptions this season, which he called a “nightmare.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Also having a bad year is San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who was benched in Sunday’s 26-6 loss to the Chicago Bears are completing just one of his five pass attempts for 4 yards. The Los Angeles Rams fell to 4-8 with Sunday’s 26-10 loss at New England and apparently didn’t really want to tackle anyone. The Carolina Panthers are dealing with a serious hangover and benched reigning MVP Cam Newton for the opening series Sunday night; don’t expect the Arizona Cardinals to have a new coach next <\/span>season; and do NFL officials have it in for New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr.?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014 Bortles on his struggles this season: “It\u2019s the biggest nightmare possible. But what are you going to do about it? You can\u2019t sit there in a corner and pout. You can\u2019t blame people. You can\u2019t feel sorry for yourself \u2014 because I think all that\u2019s going to do is affect the way I play.”<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014 Kaepernick on his benching: “I was surprised. It wasn’t something I expected.”<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014 Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount on the Rams defense: “We know they bail when it’s one-on-one tackling. I can’t recall a time when I’ve ever seen that.”<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014 Kansas City Chiefs safety and Atlanta native Eric Berry on having a pair of interception returns in his first NFL game in his hometown: “The last time I came home during the season it was to get chemotherapy… I shed a few tears before the game, I shed a few tears during the game and I shed a few after.
