The Voice narrowed to its top eight singers after the Tuesday, November 29, results show, sending home Austin Allsup and Courtney Harrell. And how about Miley Cyrus busting out a voice-changing performance of dad Billy Ray Cyrus’ 1990s hit \u201cAchy Breaky Heart\u201d? Not to mention that insane performance with godmother Dolly Parton and Pentatonix. Wow-sauce.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a taped segment with her fellow Voice coaches, Miley played \u201cOdd-O-Tune\u201d \u2014 Name That Tune with voice distortion \u2014 opposite Alicia Keys, led by Hollywood Game Night host Jane Lynch. When Keys appeared to be searching for the title of \u201cAchy Breaky Heart,\u201d Blake Shelton said, \u201cYou don\u2019t know that song, in front of her? That\u2019s going to hurt her father\u2019s feelings.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Cyrus joined Dolly on stage for a catchy performance of the country legend’s 1973 hit \u201cJolene,\u201d joined by Pentatonix. The group\u2019s show lit up Twitter with fan accolades for the song. Satisfied viewers described the performance as \u201cbeautiful,\u201d \u201cmagical\u201d and \u201camazing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Miley also mentioned her mother, Tess, later in the show, when she teared up during Aaron Gibson\u2019s performance. \u201cNow you see it runs in the family because I\u2019m crying,\u201d Miley said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Scraping by with the Instant Save was Gibson, who ranked in the bottom three with Allsup and Harrell. Gibson, who has been Instant Saved the past three weeks, got a strong endorsement assist by Adam Levine \u2014 which may have helped put him over the top with live Instant Live voters.<\/span>
\n\u201cNo disrespect to any other people on the show because they\u2019re all wonderful, but I, in my heart, believe that Aaron is the guy that should be moving forward. I believe that he is the one,\u201d Levine said before five-minute voting began. \u201cTo see you go, to me, would be a huge loss, too big a loss to deal with.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

With Gibson escaping, hopes were dashed for Allsup and Harrell, as their respective performances of \u201cTennessee Whiskey\u201d and \u201cBless the Broken Road\u201d didn\u2019t sway voters.<\/span><\/p>\n

An emotional Harrell thanked coach Blake Shelton for his support, while Allsup thanked his family and told them he loved them.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBlake, I came here to face my biggest fear \u2014 of being seen and not being heard and even rejected,\u201d Harrell told his coach in the show\u2019s closing moments. \u201cTonight, I am free, and I thank you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Looking strong in the home stretch is country singer Sundance Head. His take on Tom T. Hall\u2019s \u201cMe and Jesus\u201d topped the iTunes 200 chart after Monday\u2019s show. Also dominating the iTunes charts was Brendan Fletcher, who scored the No. 2 most downloaded song (behind Head) with his version of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors.”<\/span><\/p>\n
