The 40 things we learned from Week 11 of the NFL season:<\/span><\/p>\n 1. Week 11 \u2026 otherwise known as Shank Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n 2. Kickers managed to miss 12 \u2014 yes, 12! \u2014 extra point attempts on Sunday, marking a league record.<\/span><\/p>\n 3. Consider this: Two seasons ago, before the league moved the kick back 13 yards, there were eight missed PATs. For the season.<\/span><\/p>\n 4. Things were so bad, Colts kicker Vinatieri even missed a field-goal attempt \u2014 ending his record streak at 44 in a row.<\/span><\/p>\n 5. Perhaps the most amazing thing about the kickers\u2019 day was Bucs beleaguered rookie Roberto Aguayo making all four of his field goal attempts. And an extra point. Way to go, kid.<\/span><\/p>\n 6. We\u2019re not sure Jared Goff makes the Rams offense any better, but he didn\u2019t make the defense any smarter. More brain locks (stupid penalties) with the game on the line.<\/span><\/p>\n 7. Yeah, Russell Wilson is back. And the Seahawks\u2019 offense \u2026 whoa.<\/span><\/p>\n 8. Andrew Luck heard all of the flowery talk about Marcus Mariota and the Titans this week and went out and reminded everyone he is in the same division. He threw for 186 yards and two TDs in the first half to give the Colts a 21-0 lead even they couldn\u2019t blow.<\/span><\/p>\n 9. This was the kind of signature road win Bucs QB Jameis Winston needed.<\/span><\/p>\n 10. The Ravens all but dared Cowboys rookie QB Dak Prescott to beat them with is arm in the second half. He did.<\/span><\/p>\n 11. Coach Mike Zimmer and his Vikings offense have had enough trouble scoring without the officials getting in the way, but that\u2019s what happened in the first half Sunday. Consider:<\/span><\/p>\n 12. Vikings score one TD, but it is nullified by a penalty.<\/span><\/p>\n 13. And then their first two scores weren\u2019t put on the board until Zimmer had to challenge the original calls by the referees.<\/span><\/p>\n 14. Eventually, the Vikings took matters into their own hands with a 104-yard kickoff return and a 100-yard pick-six. Amazingly, the refs called both correctly.<\/span><\/p>\n 15. Kirk Cousins. Pay the man. If you don’t, Mr. Snyder, someone else will.<\/span><\/p>\n 16. For the record, the Bears were the first team to score in the early games on Sunday. It didn\u2019t help.<\/span><\/p>\n 17. Best penalty call announcement from Walt Anderson after the Titans were guilty of illegal procedure: \u201cEveryone but the center.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n 18. The Eagles defense talked this week about how they were on the same level as the Seahawks defense. Uh, not so much.<\/span><\/p>\n 19. The Browns are 0-11. Even their analytics folks will tell you they only have five more chances.<\/span><\/p>\n 20. Question: Do the 2008 Lions, who went 0-16, drink champagne and celebrate if the Browns win a game?<\/span><\/p>\n 21. A tip of the helmet to Dolphins WR DeVante Parker, who had several clutch catches \u2014 including the TD \u2014 on the game-winning drive.<\/span><\/p>\n 22. Hard to believe this is the first time the Cowboys have won nine in a row in their 57-season history.<\/span><\/p>\n 23. Raiders really enjoying their trip to Mexico so far. They went into first place in the AFC West on Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n 24. Tony Romo\u2019s concession speech on Tuesday. Classy. The fact he wouldn\u2019t take questions. Not so classy.<\/span><\/p>\n 25. Time for Andy Reid to take our advice. Nick Foles > Alex Smith. You\u2019re welcome, coach.<\/span><\/p>\n 26. One vision that will not leave any of us for a while: Panthers LB Luke Kuechly in tears leaving the field on a cart.<\/span><\/p>\n 27. Also prayers up for Bears rookie LB Leonard Floyd, taken off the field on a cart on Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n 28. On the Bills first drive, they relied heavily on LeSean McCoy. It resulted in a touchdown.<\/span><\/p>\n 29. Their second drive? He didn\u2019t touch the ball. Coaches just showing they are smarter than you. Even when they\u2019re not.<\/span><\/p>\n 30. Did anyone even bother to attend the 49ers-Patriots game? All those people dressed as empty seats is not a good look for a league that increasingly is in need of good looks.<\/span><\/p>\n 31. Yes, it looks like it might be a cold, playoff-less winter in Green Bay.<\/span><\/p>\n 32. Great quote from the Vikings\u2019 Cordarrelle Patterson, who now has kickoff returns for TDs at the Metrodome, TCF Bank Stadium and U.S. Bank Stadium: “That’s my new name. Triple Crown.”<\/span><\/p>\n 33. Last season, we had one person who complained all season that we didn\u2019t say enough about the Bengals. We think they lost our email address, because we haven\u2019t heard from them this season.<\/span><\/p>\n 34. As if the Browns aren\u2019t challenged enough, they gave the Steelers two extra plays in the first half from inside the 5-yard line with no time on the clock. Pittsburgh scored and turned a 6-0 edge into a 14-0 lead.<\/span><\/p>\n 35. This is the first time the Ravens have lost to the Cowboys. Ever.<\/span><\/p>\n 36. We felt the pain when we saw the sound guy from FOX get run over by the Vikings. Good to see a smile on his face later.<\/span><\/p>\n 37. A sign of a good team is when you can win when not at your best. Tip of the helmet to the Lions, now winners of five of their last six.<\/span><\/p>\n 38. When Seahawks QB Russell Wilson caught a 15-yard TD pass in the third quarter, he equaled the combined receiving yards of all the Eagles wide receivers at that point in the game. Can\u2019t make it up.<\/span><\/p>\n 39. Vikings vs. Lions for first place in the NFC North. Cowboys vs. Redskins to renew their NFC East rivalry. Steelers vs. Colts, with neither team being able to afford another loss in the AFC playoff race. See ya Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n 40.
