Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) announced that he voted for GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump just an hour before polls closed in Pennsylvania on Tuesday evening.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cI really only came to this decision in the past couple of days,\u201d Toomey said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The incumbent senator, fighting to save his Senate seat in a tight election against Democrat Katie McGinty, dodged the presidential question repeatedly over the last few months. Like other vulnerable Republicans from across the country, Toomey staked out a strategy of distancing himself from Trump, refusing to even campaign with his party\u2019s nominee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">When asked in a debate whether he supported Trump, Toomey ducked the question three separate times.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Earlier this month, Toomey lamented both parties\u2019 presidential nominees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cLike a lot of Pennsylvanians and a lot of Americans, I am very disappointed with the choice that we have, and I can\u2019t vote for Hillary Clinton under any scenario,\u201d Toomey said in an interview on WTXF. \u201cI have a lot of problems with Donald Trump.
