AMERICANS DISCONTENTED, STRESSED ABOUT ONGOING PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION:-<\/strong> “I don’t like it at all actually. I think it’s gotten very ugly, very mean-spirited. It’s not about the issues,” said Eric Stroud.<\/span><\/p>\n

“(On) the election this year, I have very mixed feelings, cause my family is very Democratic. But I don’t particularly agree with what Hilary is going for. She kind of reminds me of a scary human being. I am kind of frightened by her,” said William Morson, another U.S. citizen.<\/span><\/p>\n

A recent survey by American Psychological Association shows that 52 percent of the Americans are stressed about the 2016 presidential election.<\/span><\/p>\n

Experts say the stress has both psychological and physical impacts on people\u2019s life.<\/span><\/p>\n

“When we look at the specific election stress, we find that over half of the Americans are stressed about it and worried about it. Not knowing the outcome is also a stress because we don’t know, you know, people say ‘well, we don’t know what’s going to happen later today, tomorrow. <\/span><\/p>\n

What news is going to break.’ Then, there are health effects as well. So, not only the psychological aspects of worrying, about what is going to happen, how we are going to deal with it. Some people get very frustrated and angry. But the other thing is it can affect sleep; it can affect how we eat; it can affect our relationships,” said Mary Avold, an expert with the American Psychological Association.<\/span><\/p>\n

Smart businessmen have seized the opportunity to develop ways to subside people’s stress about the election, such as devising mobile apps. A golf club in Texas even sets the portraits of the two candidates as targets for people to release the pressure.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some Americans want the election to be over as soon as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n
