The 33-year-old rapper and entrepreneur has been changing the game since day one. Now, the Trinidad-born artist is speaking out about what it\u2019s like to compete in the male-dominated music genre of rap. The \u201cAnaconda\u201d star recently told Marie Claire that it was Jay Z\u2019s transition from rapper to businessman that inspired her to make big moves in her career, saying: \u201cI felt like anything he could do, I could do.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Although <\/span>Jay Z has played a big role in inspiring Minaj\u2019s success, we can\u2019t forget about Blue Ivy\u2019s other parent, Beyonc\u00e9, who has been know to slay collaborations with Nicki. Besides putting out music that is absolute gold, Nicki\u2019s \u201cFeeling Myself\u201d and Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s \u201cFlawless\u201d remix, the two have been known to have social media buzzing with their collabs. \u201cEvery time Bey and I do something together, I see how women are inspired,\u201d Minaj tells Marie Claire. Their girl-power message reminds women around the world that they\u2019re in charge, \u201cYou should be the boss of your own career and the brains behind your life or your decisions.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

This message of feminism is something the YMCMB artist truly believes in, \u201cI want [every woman\u2019s] goal in life to be to become an entrepreneur, a rich woman, a career-driven woman.\u201d Seeing young women get married and rely on their husband for money, is not something the Pinkprint rapper supports, \u201cI don\u2019t want that to be a woman\u2019s goal in life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
