{"id":13036,"date":"2016-10-04T12:50:20","date_gmt":"2016-10-04T12:50:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.biphoo.com\/bipnews\/?p=13036"},"modified":"2016-10-04T12:50:20","modified_gmt":"2016-10-04T12:50:20","slug":"a-world-record-18-costume-changes-in-a-minute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biphoo.com\/bipnews\/world-news\/a-world-record-18-costume-changes-in-a-minute.html","title":{"rendered":"A world record 18 costume changes in a minute"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">A world record 18 costume changes in a minute<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>A world record 18 costume changes in a minute:-<\/strong> Malaysian quick-change artist couple Avery Chin Yoke Leong and Sylvia Lim Chay <\/span>Meet<span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"> have entered the Guinness World Records for making 18 costume changes in one minute.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Both in their 30s, the couple were recognised for their presentation at the Happy Valley Theme Park in Wuhan, China, for the country\u2019s national day celebration last Sept 28.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cWe are proud to be Malaysian, especially given how the media here (in China) mentioned Malaysia in their report on our success,\u201d Chin said when contacted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cStrong gusts of wind across the open stage were a challenge during the presentation, something that even the representative from Guinness World Records recognised.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cYou can see that we faced issues with the last two costume changes, but we managed to power through it to break the record.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Hailing from Kuala Lumpur, the couple have been practising costume sleight-of-hand for the past eight years, usually doing shows with 12 costume changes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">We found 19 costumes extremely difficult.
