Chrissy Teigen Upsets Twitter With Comments About \u2018Oriental\u2019 Salad Dressing<\/strong> : Chrissy Teigen is at it again.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 30-year-old model and ever-present Twitter personality seemed to upset the masses on Monday after declaring that she wasn\u2019t offended by the word \u201coriental.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

It all started when Teigen, who is half-Thai, tweeted about the \u201coriental dressing\u201d option on her flight.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI really really really really clearly am not a PC type of gal but I\u2019m a little weirded out at the oriental dressing option on my flight,\u201d she wrote on Monday night.<\/span><\/p>\n

Teigen then got herself into a little hot water when a user asked if the term \u201coriental\u201d was offensive.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNot offensive, really. Just weird. Old school. Just say Asian,\u201d she wrote, before adding that her \u201cPC-ness is very lenient.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

But Teigen\u2019s \u201coriental\u201d debate didn\u2019t end there. The cook book author then clarified that while she\u2019s not personally offended by the term, she does recognize how outdated it is, saying that she excuses people who use it under \u201cforgivable ignorance.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Teigen continued to reiterate her point, adding that she wouldn\u2019t get mad over someone not using the term \u201cAsian American\u201d \u2013 which only seemed to further anger some of her followers, who argued that tolerating others\u2019 ignorance was another way of maintaining the status quo and perpetuating racism.<\/span><\/p>\n
