The Rock and Vin Diesel Fast 8 Feud:<\/strong> Dwayne \u201cThe Rock\u201d Johnson and Vin Diesel are officially beefing, and sources say the drama has been brewing for some time.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTension has been building up for months,\u201d a source close to the production tells PEOPLE.<\/span><\/p>\n

Johnson was first to publicly drop hints about the feud with a lengthy Instagram rant calling out \u201csome\u201d of his male co-stars on Monday. But one set source says the problems began with Diesel\u2019s frustrations over the former wrestling pro\u2019s behavior on set on set.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cVin has been having problems with The Rock because The Rock keeps showing up late for production,\u201d the source explains. \u201cSometimes he doesn\u2019t show up at all and he\u2019s delaying the production.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

There have also been reports of diva behavior on Diesel\u2019s part, especially during the filming of Fast 7. \u201cVin spent a whole day in his trailer one day,\u201d a source told The Hollywood Reporter in October. \u201cThe next day, they waited four hours for him. He called a meeting [May 28] of studio execs to his trailer for two-and-a-half hours to say, \u2018What the f\u2014 am I doing here?\u2019’<\/span>
\n<\/a>Another source told Page Six that Diesel \u201cwas constantly late [when we worked together]. The source added that Diesel “acted like a diva and has held up production before\u201d and that \u201cit\u2019s not surprising that he\u2019s the one The Rock is calling out.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In his Instagram post, Johnson praised the sequel, its \u201chard working\u201d crew, Universal Studios, and his \u201camazing\u201d female co-stars. \u201cMy male co-stars, however, are a different story,\u201d he wrote. \u201cSome conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don\u2019t,\u201d Johnson continued. \u201cThe ones that don\u2019t are too chicken s*** to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses.” Diesel and Johnson allegedly met Tuesday on the Atlanta set, TMZ reports, to hash out their differences. “I think there were some words said yesterday about this and that\u2019s what started this whole thing online but the tension has been going on for months,\u201d the source notes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fast 8 co-star Tyrese Gibson came to the Rock\u2019s defense on Tuesday in a since deleted Instagram post, writing, \u201cDJ happens to be one of the most humble, down to earth and professional people I\u2019ve ever worked with.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

But according to the source, Johnson\u2019s tardiness has been an issue for the production, and Diesel, who has been a star in the franchise since the first installment back in 2001, got fed up. \u201cI don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on with The Rock,\u201d says the source. \u201cHe is always late and it really has delayed our production. Vin just couldn\u2019t take it anymore.” <\/span><\/p>\n

The Rock took to Instagram again on Wednesday where he posted a video and praised everyone involved with the production of Fast 8. <\/span><\/p>\n
