Galaxy Note 8 Suddenly Leaks Three Times

2016’s Galaxy Note 7 fiasco nearly killed the range, but the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus were critical (if flawed) hits so expectations for the Galaxy Note 8 have risen. And now no less than three leaks suggest this could be 2017’s most exciting phone…

Let’s break them down:

Leak #1: Dual Camera and ‘Missing’ Fingerprint Sensor

First off the mark is Chinese site called CNMO.com (via Slashleaks) which posted what it claims is the first real world photo showing the rear of the Galaxy Note 8. The snap shows not only a dual, vertically aligned rear camera (like the iPhone 8 redesign), but also no horribly positioned rear fingerprint sensor like the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus.

Given the Galaxy Note 8 is widely tipped to integrate the fingerprint sensor into the display, this is a very promising sign – if the leak stands up.

Leak #2: Even Smaller Bezels

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus are perhaps the pinnacle so far in the welcome 2017 smartphone trend of reduced bezel size. But a new photo via leaking hotbed Weibo claims the top bezel of the Galaxy Note 8 measures just 6.7mm (0.26-inches) thick.

This is even thinner than the Galaxy S8 Plus (7mm), which has the greatest screen-to-body ratio of all Galaxy phones (84.0%) and the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to have an even bigger display at a massive 6.4-inches. So it looks like a new screen-to-body ratio champion is coming.

Leak #3: The Front Panel

Following this pair of photos comes a video leak, again picked up by Slashleaks, which claims be of the Galaxy Note 8 front panel. The panel ties in exactly with the Weibo image and builds on what we’ve already seen with the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus as Samsung continues its mission to fill the front of its phones with nothing but display.

Needless to say, nothing is official about the Galaxy Note 8 until it is formally unveiled. But there is a clear pattern emerging which shows Samsung is radically overhauling the Galaxy Note 7 to match the design language of the new Galaxy S range while also seemingly addressing their shortcomings.

It looks like Apple’s redesigned 10th anniversary iPhone is going to have a fight on its hands…
